Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS)
By-product from the manufacturing of steel in a blast furnace. Initially in its molten form, it is diverted to a granulator where it is quenched with water and rapidly cooled to form glassy, non-metallic granules which are silicates and aluminosilicates of calcium. These granules are dried to produce Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS)
Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS)
GBFS is ground to a controlled fineness through vertical roller mills or ball mills with the latest technology and quality control systems to produce Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS). The grinding process takes account of mean particle size, grading (particle size distribution) and particle shape, thus giving quality-assured material in off-white colour which is consistent, predictable and suitable for varied applications.
